Through Kiva we help change lives. This month we lent our $25 to a lady four kids and no husband. I don’t know how you say her name, Bertird, but it sounds unfortunate when I tried to say it to Tracey.
Bertird is 40 years old and is a widow. She has 4 children aged 3 to 20 with 3 of them currently in school. She owns a small store where she sells juice, rice, and fruits, which she has been doing for 3 years. She would like a loan in order to buy more rice, salt, sugar, and juice to sell. Any profits will be used to renovate her house. She dreams to one day own a supermarket.
Over the next 8 months, Bertird’s repayments will trickle in and we’ll lend it back out to another deserving person living in difficult conditions somewhere in the world.
